help or advice

hello friends and members of tig, and of course the good people of our beautiful and changing world. As we know, this is the century of china, and the competition is getting hotter and everybody is working hard, some succeeding and a few have seen the light, and others just don't care. There are a few, whom already have it all, and others are out there begging.
Imagine a world without poverty, and everybody is just happy. So much for capitalism and the saying that there is no free lunch.
What of the few people with good hearts and dreams and also a desire to help the less previlaged, but in all there struggles they just don't get anything out of it.
People in search of happiness and the desire to do something for the world and her people. What happens to us as we leave our lives and all our struggles comes to naught. Even as we can see donor agancies giving away a lot of cash to foreign governments and yet nothing to show for it, and the poor are still there, starving and worse loosing their lives. Children can no longer have decent enviroments to play, and leave a healthy life, which in turn grows with them and affects their attitude to life.
Where children at tender ages learn nothing but foul language and are always out there on the streets looking for livelihood.
What about the few who seat and get paid for sitting, and receiving these monies form the donor agancies.
Well i have always been on tig blog, and shared my opinions, but for some months if not years, i wasn't near the internet, because problems caught up with me, i am happy to still be alive.
All i am here to do now is to make an appeal to the community and to the world, ANYBODY WHO CARE TO LISTEN OR READ MY TIME CONSUMING PIECE, BE PATIENT WITH ME AND READ IT,
I APPEAL FOR ASSUSTANCE, IF THE COMMUNITY, OR EVEN A FEW PEOPLE SEE SOME GOOD IN ME OR POTENTIAL OR SEE A YOUNG MAN READY TO WORK AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE, THEN READ THIS, BECAUSE IT IS FOR GOOD.
I SEEK AN OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME SOMEBODY, I DON'T NEED CHARITY, I NEED JOB(S), WHERE I WILL BE PAID, PAID FOR WORKING, PAID FOR HELPING PEOPLE, AND GETTING EXPERIENCE, EXCHANGING IDEAS WITH LEARNED PEOPLE AND INTERACTING WITH OTHER CULTURES AND PEOPLES.
I ALSO WILL APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE OF ANY SORT, BE IT IN KIND OR INSPIRATION DISCUSSION, OR CASH. I AM NOT DESPERATE, BUT I NEED ENCOURAGEMENT AND HELP.
PLEASE I KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE THERE IN OUR WORLD, AND THIS COMMUNITY WHO WILL HELP.THANK YOU FOR READING THIS.

$100 Laptops

Assuming I have to get up every morning from a mat on a very cold and wet night of discomfort and the various mosquitoe spots spread over my body like an airport runway, and having to go about the whole activities of life in a refugee camp, where even tomorow is not assured, and water and food to nourish us is in my imagination. Or for instance, life for me and my family is normadic, moving from one place to another, the dangers of the wild, wild and evil armies, and rebels, dangerous governments, and the natural elements, witnessing babies born to die for nothing, old men and women can't have the benefit of rest from all that life has done to them, yet in their age and weight, with three loegs, they move on, through, deserts, bushes, gun-fire, rapes, house burning, and happy children, who can't figure out the next child that will leave this cruel world in a matter of time. Every second counts, and every time is lost. Yet we have people who are at parties almost all their life, some don't know what it is like not to even have somebody to take of you, or to be able to have a good night sleep in the comfort of what we call a bed, and a roof over our heads. We have people who haven't tastes what clean and hygenic water feels like, even the to see their children play in safety and peace. That to me is lost childhood, and are they to blame.
Unfortunately, much is done but the effects are slowly getting to stay. It is said that we have to keep talking, for once we stop then we are dead. If i were to be leaving in any of this conditions, then how am I to be botheres about a laptop that is going to cost me $100, or is my government that is at war with rebels and with itself, purchase laptops for $100 and come to meet me in the forest where i am trying ro survive and hide from gagsters in army gear, to give me a laptop, and then CNN or BBc, maybe Al Jazeera will take a picture of me in just pants, no shirts, shoes, dirty mouth, bad breath, and a few injuries and bad health, with my mum in her old single clothes, curdling my younger ones who have nothing but eyes and tiny legs that still barely move, and then how am i going to enjoy it, soon after they are gone, the gangsters will swoop on us, kill some, rape some, burn our make shift rooms, and definately take the laptops. What a waste of research for people who are dying everyday, or rather a nice move to make money for the West. Do you think of what that means for the inventors of such a toy, there is almost over a billion people in africa in abject poverty and three quaters of this people dont have a home, they are at war, refugees or worse, multiply this figure by $100 and you will know what their plan is. Is it not enough that they come and buy our resources from us at cheap rates, give their farmers subsidies, and advice our governments to remove subsidies, they sell to us weapons for war, and some even come with the intention to infect our people in the name of vaccination, and the worst part of it is that our so called leaders have sold their souls for dollars, and yet they all still die. When is africa going to have a re-birth. when will we learn to live together, and when are we going to finally say this is what we want.
What is the big deal in a $100 laptop, it is not going to put food in my table, not going to give me a job, welfare, even retired workers don't get their terminal benefits, our hospitals are not standard, no lights, no peace, no justice.
I think the UN really needs this reform, and it shouldn't be championed by the west or by any region. Time is running out, and some day the UN may loose credibility and suffer the same faith as the league of nations. What happened to their role of protecting the rights of every human beign from supressive regimes, since this ill fated war in iraq, the UN is letting go of some of its vital tasks.
It is always about africa, every time on the news all you see about africa is hunger, disease, war, bad government, everything not so nice. And in the west it is about business and politics.
Sooner or later when all the money and the resources in africa must have finished, i wonder if there will be any more wars, or external influences.
If all this diseases and wars are not in africa, i wonder where they will be doing business, when will the UN really sanction the west, i dont think so, but i pray so.
Enough of all this talk about $100 laptops and it publicity, it is a shame to humanity, and to civilization.

Birth, Life, Departure....

He came as a human beign, like each and everyone of us. He cried like we all did. He knew hardships, even worser than I have known. He had parents, and lost them when he was younger, many of us even tll our old age, we have our parents. He was ideal. He knew he had a mission, and he followed dutifully. He was never afraid to face the challenges coming, he had a heart, too big to forgive and forget. He loved music, children, nature, life, and he loved peace. He was an example for many, and he had to face many people who are sharp contrasts to what is morally right. He has an eye that can pierce a rock, and shatter buildings, but without lifting a tool, or having to send debris flying around and harming those around. He came at a time when their was a deflection in the troop. He was a definition of destiny, destiny that makes a difference to many. We cannot run from it, we cannot change it, we cannot see it, unless we open our hearts and say, let it be done. He had to humble himself to teach us how important the earth is, and how we must try to preserve it. He became a bridge, and many people crossed it to have hand shakes with people they have never had such moments with. He learnt to speak the languages of many people, not that he loved it so much, but telling the younger genreation that all we have to do is to have a heart to learn, and we will. He cared less for what the world could give to him for his office, but rather thought more of what he has to let the world know that they can give to each other. A world where all people will know what it means to have life. He hated the idea of fighting for freedom, for it is not as simple as taking a domestic animal for meal. He left instructions on why we must love. But in his life he went everywhere to make sure that the message is heard. He meant the difference between courage and fear. He did not leave to please anybody. Even leaders that hate to be told the truht he not only told the truth but stopped their campaigns. He was not a hero, but a man, like any other man.
But he was a man with a mission, and a heart to work, not for himself, but for others. And he lent his heart to the youth, giving them company amidst all the chaos.
He was a man, a man of his words. And now he is gone. And when such people go, they usually ask, who can ever fit into his shoes.
But he did not leave his shoes behind, for he did not come into the world with shoes. One never loses what he never had. Instead he told the world that it is only for a while, we all guest here but for a while and then we are gone. He has already left us the legacy, the example and the very things people with good hearts do. All the world was there, and saw his burial. His burial was a place of peace, people united and they forgot all the past and even had to talk to each other. He was a man of change.
God bless his soul.
God bless the church.
God bless the world.

what did africa not do

Happy new year to all and with great and warm heart i send this greetings. And prayerfully for the victims of the tsunami.
to quickly make my points which may seem somewhat irrelevant but very indepent, are these views.
African has seen what no child should wish to see, the wars, hunger, civil unrest, unstable economy and governments, many you can also name. But the questions are numerous, why do they keep repeating, and why is the AU very helpless, and unable to take a postive stance against such reoccurances, but always have meetings and issue communiques, but unfortunately, these conflicts keep goingon, and when they are done, they seek help from the internationla community.
What did the babies un born do to need such treatments, many are they that have not had a night sleep in peace and in the warm enclosure of what we call homes, children have lost the feel of warm blanckets, but this is way beyond what the various groups, factions, and governments believe. They always seem to know what they are doing, and if they are corrupt, they go on, and if they are trying to supress a smaller tribe they do so with full force. I do wonder why our continent is so under developed, sometimes if my friends want to say that one is not having any money, they say, "i am afri" what a bad idea of africa, the land of sun and green carpet. it is quite sorrowful and yet some pretend not to care. Why will our leaders not try to improve the social enviroment by putting in place all the well deserved infrastructure, will it not be better for the people to live healthy lives and better standards of living, yes, this governments will still og about their various interests, i wonder if they ever had a normal childhood, or they do not have developed minds, and so dont want others to have a normal life.
It is a shame to see that the international community, is being unfair to africa, we are so much indebted even thoguh, most of the citizens dont even know how such monies were collected on their behalf, yet they have to suffer in their ignorance, and the creditors then seize the opportunity and cash in.
What ever happened to the millenium goals i wish i know, or the new and infant NEPAD, which has now been reduced to only seminars and conferences.
I believe that things will surely change, just that we have to pray for our leaders and the international community. I wonder if most of them have seen the look on an infant trying to suckle his mum, but does so in vane as there is nothing to suck, and the mum happens to be on the floor at the point of death.
It is too much, let the people have the say.

We act like we do not know...

good morning to all and a happy new year.
we are all happy that a new year is here and we are alive and strong with the ones we love. Some are not lucky to have all the people they love around, but they are alive.
But is it typical of african to see people in pains and keep mute. To me the answer is a big NO!
It is very odd, and it seems like we don't even care. Well a lot of people care, and all i can say is please the youths, there are some of us that have very wealthy parents, we can pool money tpgether and send to the organisations that are pooling funds globally, and better most of our youths will love to do this.
Well i like to appeal, it is only a helping hand, and the people we help are not only the living, for the dead will appreciate that their children and family left behind are not going to meet the same fate as they did.
Let us do whatever we can, for the children and the women, those now homeless and no where to sleep.
I will like to ask for regional offices of aid organisations in africa to publish their addresses, to enable those who want to help do so.
Let us not only be good for crying for debt relief and asking for aid when we engage in senseless and self imposed violence, let us be african, let us grow, let us help.
GOD bless
